University High School Parent Fund The Parent Fund is a critical and valued component of Uni’s budget which supports our wonderful students, teachers, coaches, counselors, and staff. It accounts for nearly 16% of the annual operating revenue for the school, which is the second largest revenue stream behind General State Aid (GSA -grant funding from the Illinois State Board of Education based on average daily attendance). This fund is also used to support more than $45,000 in athletic coaching stipends, deferred maintenance on the school building, and approximately $110,000 to pay teachers for leading co-curricular activities such as the scholastic bowl, in addition to so much more. With the help of our alumni and friends, this fund supports our promising students whose financial situation might prevent them from attending Uni High in the form of a fee waiver scholarship. Each year more than $30,000 in scholarships are awarded to current students and families in need.
